Doenjang jjigae is one of the most classic comfort foods in Korea. It is easy to make and is a meal in itself, rich in protein and vegetables-all you need is some rice and some kimchi. This recipe adds tofu and clams into a rich, stylish broth, while onions, green onions, mushrooms, and zucchini can be made into hearty vegetables. But keep in mind that there are many ways to make this dish, you can change the protein (try some fish or beef) or use a different vegetable combination (potatoes, spinach, cabbage and Swiss chard are all good).
